Phantom III : Rear Axle.

In reply to your memo' Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Smth6/M.17.2.37 the position is as under:-

1. The Drawing Office have given us particulars of the parts involved as per memo' BY/TWD.{T. W. D???Aeith}2/E.19.2.37.

2. The Order Office state they have delivered 50% of the Axle Shafts for 'C' Series and the balance of this Series, now in progress at the Makers, could be made to the new drawings, providing the instructions were issued immediately, and they could commence delivery in 4/5 weeks and the other new details in 8/10 weeks from receipt of instructions.

3. In view of the above, the Works could introduce on the 151st chassis in 'C' Series, which is due to be sent to the Test Dept. week-ending June 26th.

4. No scrap would be involved as according to the D.O. instructions referred to above, the replaced parts, with the exception of the Axle Shafts could be utilised on 25/30 HP.

If it is desired that this job should be brought on at the point mentioned, we would emphasise the necessity of instructions being issued to the Works and the Order Office at once.
