ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To EFC Order No. PC 138 Customer's No. X 8783 Complaint Dynamo UR65. Off Chassis 2-LC The complaint made by the Repair Dept., concerning this machine, was that it was noisy, while the complaint given in the note from production accompanying the machine to us, was to the effect that solder had been melted from the commutator connections. It could be seen, by just removing the end cover, that solder on the commutator had been melted. Tested on the AC mains, the insulation was found to be quite OK apart from an intermittent breakdown on the armature caused by bits of solder bridging the space between the commutator and end bracket. The commutator, and positive and negative brushes, were badly blackened. The control brushes were dull and somewhat pitted, and were found to be set at an angle. Signed Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
