THB15/H20912 Mr Wormald RECEIVED [Stamp: 23 SEP 1912] Westwood, COPY. Crowborough, Sussex. 20th Sept. 1912. Mr Johnson & T.C. Re new design of Axle. With reference to the latest experimental axle which is now practically completed in the Shops, Mr Royce has the impression that this torque tube is identical, as regards strength, with our present standard. He points out that its strength can be increased in the same way to withstand jaggering stresses as the improvements that are now being made to the standard axle, including larger bolts with special nuts.
