1091 24.7.40. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/JMS. M.C. Wilks, Esq., The Rover Company, Ltd., New Meteor Works, COVENTRY. Dear Wilks, As you know an 8-cylinder engine is a 4-cylinder engine from an induction point of view. We are, therefore, interested in the best induction system for 4-cylinders with the normal 4-cylinder firing order. We have got some results on our test beds here, but are surprised to find that we do not seem to be able to get anything out of using one carburetter to each 2 cylinders. I would like to come over and discuss the matter with you in the immediate future, if this could be arranged under war-time conditions. I find that I can think about interesting things like motor cars about 3 hours a week. Yours sincerely, | ||
