Mr. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Mirone,
Torino,
ITALY.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your letter of 29th. November from Turin.

We do not quite understand your letter in which you say you have developed a gear and yet it is ready for testing. Presumably you had to test it before you could complete development.

Naturally, the advantages which you enumerate on Page 2 make the gear sound very attractive. As, however, the distance between Italy and England is considerable and we are at the present moment at War, the possibility of testing the gear is somewhat remote.

We should, however, like a copy of the Patent Specification and any written explanation as to the functioning of the gear, which you may think fit to let us have.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
