TO ~~BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}~~ FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} re. RADIATORS, BONNET, SHUTTERS & LOUVRES. Handwritten: X8250 X8240 We are perfectly contented with 'V' series radiator simply raised 1", or we are contented with a parallel radiator the 1" higher with integral shutters. Regarding shutters these can be either integral or added. We think integral should be the better. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} will send particulars of experimental radiators later. We so far do not like the appearance of the taper radiator. We do not like the appearance of the louvres on 7.EX. I should use shutters until we get a better design and system of making. I understand Sales have asked for finer pitch louvres, which please make. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} says those on 7.EX. were not level with the ground at the top - (i.e. were higher towards the dash,), and gave an appearance that the hinge was lower at the dashboard end.
