BENTLEY CYLINDER STUDS. We have run at your request a Bentley unit with the centre row of cylinder studs deleted. In conjunction with this job a new cylinder head gasket was fitted and the unit run for 6 hours at endurance speeds but at ¼ load, a bearing test being carried out at the same time. Although from the actual running there was nothing wrong, the gasket upon dismantling appears to have been blowing in the region of the deleted stud positions, especially on Nos.1 & 6 cylinders. The gasket has been submitted to E/Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} for his inspection. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} | ||
