Coil temperature after running the engine 1 hr on battery ignition.
Primary winding 99°C
Secondary winding 90°C
To prove whether the coil had attained its maximum temperature, Test 3 was conducted in which the duration of each run was doubled or increased.
Test 3 20HP chassis 1063. with standard coil. Car running on road.
Coil temperature after running 1 hr on magneto.
Primary winding 56°C.
Secondary winding 58°C.
