PETROL STARVATION DUE TO VAPOUR LOCK. We have now had an opportunity of interrogat- ing Roberts, who took the Wraith over to France with regard to the exact conditions under which fuel shortage was ex- perienced. He is of the opinion that it is extremely unlikely that customers would run into this trouble either on the Phantom III with the pump in the frame or on the Wraith. The secret of showing up the petrol shortage is to get away in a great hurry from a standing start after having allowed the car to remain stationary for exactly the right length of time. Fortunately Rolls-Royce owners do not make a habit of racing 'getaways'. We are not relaxing our efforts to cure this vapour lock trouble in spite of the fact that it has been obtained under rather artificial conditions. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
