-3- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Aln.3/MA.9.7.32. Contd. Tests were carried out on the Alfa-Romeo blower at Superchargers Ltd., London, side by side with the Powerplus blower which they make. Pressure - delivery curves were issued under Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Aln.1/MA.29.6.32. These are now supplemented by Adiabatic and Volumetric Efficiency curves attached, which are based on the former curves, these being the venturi nozzle tests results. The adiabatic curves involve also the horse-power taken to drive the blowers as derived from the electric motor ammeter readings and a calibration table supplied by Superchargers Ltd. The curves call for little comment, but present the performance characteristics in a convenient form for reference. They confirm the general performance superiority of the Powerplus except as regards adiabatic efficiencies at low pressures and high speeds where presumably mechanical friction attains some importance.
