30th. June 1938.

Messrs.Wellworthy Ltd.,
Lymington,
HANTS.

For the attention of Mr. Blackith.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to the bearing blanks we propose to produce for Messrs.Leyland Motors and which the writer spoke to Mr.Blackith about when we were at Guildford the other day, we should like you to approve the price we have verbally given to Mr.Markland of The Leyland Motor Co., or alternatively suggest a price for us to quote officially. As you know, we intend to produce rough machined but fully heat treated blanks with approx. .100 of material surplus all over.

For the 25 sets of Cub bearings we have mentioned a price of 29/- per set of bearings, consisting of connecting-rod bearings and main bearings with the exception of the flywheel main bearing.

For the 8.6 litre engine we propose charging Leylands the sum of 67/- per set for 6 sets of complete bearings with the exception of the flywheel bearing.

In the case of the flywheel bearings we have suggested that they use their normal white-metal since they are very generously proportioned.

We should be very pleased if you would let us have your opinion as to our cost figures as soon as possible as we are anxious to let Leylands know what we intend charging them for the job, and at the same time do not want to give any false impression as to what the cost will actually be when you supply them on a production basis, since Messrs.Wellworthy are eventually to handle the job commercially the prices quoted should be with their approval.

Yours faithfully,
