Cricklewood Works,
LONDON. N.W. 2.

For the attention of Mr. C.W. Nichols.

Dear Sirs,

Your letter - reference S.1. - of the 30th March has been handed to the Experimental Dept.

We do not think Mr. Hallam was in a position to settle this matter.

We returned to you sometime ago all the parts of the Jacking System which we could find, and said we were quite willing to pay for those we had lost. The reason we did not contemplate fitting them as standard on a Rolls-Royce car was because of their agricultural appearance. In particular the finish of the front brakes and jacks was entirely out of the question. We are rather surprised that you suggest us paying £27/10/- for the pleasure of sending these parts back to you.

As regards the set of Jacks now on its way, our interest in these is our wish to obtain a cheaper system than the present DWS. arrangement.

We hope to hear from you in the near future what price you will charge for batches of 200.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
