Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lr.{Mr Ellor} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} E/Rbr.{Mr Rubbra} E.2/HP.31.5.35. ENGINE DATA. The attached report - E/PSN.2/MN.30.5.35 draws highly interesting and very important comparisons between the various types of heads and valve arrangement which we have under consideration of both types we are using, and also the types being used by our competitors. They show up to a large extent the line of development we are following, and call for acceleration in certain directions. Another point that emerges is the superiority of the sleeve valve as regards engine breathing capacity, particularly in respect to the arrangement we are using for the Exe. We are sanguine that the designs for the 24 cylinder liquid cooled engine can be produced in a comparatively short time, and a programme is being prepared. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} ATT: | ||
