Hallam - Head Repairs}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/Sd18/MW17.1.40. re: Storage of Cars. ----------- In our Instruction Books we recommend draining of the lubricating oils from engine, gearbox, and rear axle, and replenishing these units with a pure mineral oil. As alternatives Vacuum Mobiloil 'BB' and Wakefield's Arctic 'C' are quoted. An Owner's driver has reported that when he asked his local garage for a supply of mineral oil for the above purpose, he was supplied with Price's Olympia 'L'. We subsequently wrote to Price's Lubricants Ltd., enquiring whether they marketed a mineral oil, and if so under what name it was sold. We attach hereto their reply in original, and we shall be glad if you will let us have your views on their recommendation that a fresh charge of either Motorine 'C' or Motorine 'M' would be quite suitable for the purpose of preventing corrosion, and the general keeping of units in good condition.
