HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4117 Re Chassis 112-EU - R.G. Taylor DY.{F R Danby} c. to Mk.{R. E. B. Meade-King} [text is struck through] c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} D/AWS14/B5-1-26. With reference to Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}11/T.18-12-25, kindly note Cr.{Mr Cra???ster / Mr Chichester} has now visited this customer and with regard to the question of squeaking brakes we give below an extract from his report, which appears to dispose of this matter for the time being:- "With regard to the question of squeaking brakes, this I was told had been continuous. It was the rear brakes. On pressing the foot pedal to-day on first starting out there was considerable squeaking: I then applied the brakes rather sharply and firmly and this quite cured the squeak for the rest of our run - some 12 or 14 miles perhaps. The driver will try this method if he has further trouble". D.L. | ||
