6th June, 1936.

Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd.,
Tachbrook Rd.,
Leamington Spa.

For the attention of Mr. Barker.

Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of yesterday's date and for the enclosed print.

We note your remarks regarding the finish and size of the sample facings, and appreciate that you cannot supply us with discs until you receive some correct facings. We are taking the matter up with Ferodo and meanwhile trust that you will continue to insist that the finish and size of the facings are entirely satisfactory and up to specification.

We understand from the Buying Dept. that you have been asking whether we should accept plates of the old type modified to have the new facings and U-slots round each of the outer rivet holes. This would make the plates identical with the new standard except that there would be a U-slot round every other inner rivet. The answer is that we are agreeable to this providing the holes in the facings and centre plate register well. You will, of course, flatten the inner tongue before fixing the facings. This means that all the plates supplied to the old specification can be modified.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
