500, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/R.10.5.37. With reference to the attached report, I have been trying a short duration camshaft on the Wraith, and have been impressed by the fact that although the engine idles as well as some of the American cars with this cam-shaft, when it does misfire, it is far more noticeable on the back seat than any Buick. This disappears when the ignition is retarded. With this short duration camshaft we have no more over-lap than some of the American cars. I believe that as well as going for the short duration shaft we have got to concentrate on engine mounting and ignition governor characteristics. Altering the ignition governor can, as Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} points out, be applied to existing cars. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
