April 3rd 1939 Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, We have pleasure in bringing to your notice the fact that we have produced, after exhaustive research and tests, a really successful penetrating grease, in liquid form, for easy application to laminated springs on all vehicles. This product has the property of leaving a thick film of dark-coloured grease on the articles treated, after the solvents used in its manufacture have evaporated after application, and thus successfully solves the difficulties normally experienced in keeping springs properly lubricated under all conditions of weather, and hard service. It is practically impervious to mud, road dust etc., and the film remaining in good condition on the springs for many months. You will at once realize that this represents an enormous advance on the ordinary penetrating oils which are sold for this purpose, and which consist mainly of thin spindle oil, having little real lubricating value for the work, and weather conditions under which springs have to work. May we have the privilege of submitting a generous free sample to you for test purposes. [Handwritten Notes] Rur Any interest to you please Mr B[...] 5/4/39 AFM{Anthony F. Martindale} yours | ||
