The disadvantages are :- (a) The mercury switch making and breaking contact at minimum speed appears to lag a little in its junction also it prevents us supporting the dynamo from a pivot and swigging it about its centre to tighten the belt. It necessitates a much more awkward kind of fixing. (b) It is not so compact or quite so water tight in design and not nearly so cleanly designed and executed. (c) A further trouble might occur after some time in use is that the mercury may oxidise. (Sgd) EWHB. | ||
