C O P Y. X.962 X703 Re Frames. Mr Bagnall Na{Mr Nadin}31/B28813. Below is a copy of a telegram received from Mr Wormald this afternoon. We should give this immediate effect.- "Heat treat all front ends of frames beyond cross members." The steel from which the frame is made should contain about 3% nickel steel, and should give good results if hardened as follows:- (1) Heat up to 800º Cent. and quench out in oil. (2) Re-heat to about 400º Cent. and allow to cool out in the air. In fact they may be treated in the same way as we treat our other 3% nickel steel. The Frames should be quenched for not less than 6" behind the centre of the front tubular cross member. [STAMP TEXT] REC'D W.M.L. 10 FEB 1913 | ||
