Dear Sirs,

Re 10" Cross Cushioned Plate.

With reference to our 'phone call of this afternoon, when Mr. Shinkins informed us that your entire stock of Thermoid facings are already drilled for the Crimped plate with which you regularly supply us, we wonder whether or not it would be possible to re-drill a pair of these facings to suit the cross-cushion plate without any of the new holes breaking into the old ones, it being understood, of course, that a plate so built up would have a number of unused holes in the facings, and would be used for experimental purposes only.

If this appears to you to be a reasonable proposition, (apart from appearance) will you please make up one such plate, and one other cross cushion plate with a pair of Ferodo S.O/777 facings which we are forwarding to you.

Would you please let us know the approximate amount of cushioning under a load of about 1350 lbs.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
