It has been arranged that after you have completed 9,000 miles in France, the car will be returned to England for the final 1,000 miles to be run in England by Sales officials and EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}, MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}, etc. Before the car returns we are very anxious to get a few thousand miles on the modified exhaust system. We have today sent you off a new manifold in which the end holes are slotted .2". When this is fitted on the engine we expect the clearance to be .075" for expansion leaving .025" for contraction.
