Weekly Report.

During this week we have been removing our tackle and belongings into the new shop within the track. There is still no material coming through and no men to do the necessary work to continue experiments as they are still away on the steering pivot job.

Steering Pivot Test. - (K.148)

We have in the stores 50 or 60 new pivots which have been rejected by the inspectors on account of them being .010 to .020 thinner than the limit allowed at the root of stub axle.

[Diagram of a pivot with handwritten text: Thin Here]

They should be .312" thick but are passed at .28". One of the rejected ones are .27" thick. We are testing some of these to see if this defect is serious, and if not, whether it would be safe to recommend that they should be used.

The first one is now running on the reversal test rig. Instead of driving this rig from the back wheel of a car as before we have fixed up the little piston valve single cylinder engine and this does the job admirably.
