Showrooms (Sr is absent) EWP{Mr Punt}19/MLG.7.9.34 Re: Operation of horns at night time With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/MA.4.9.34, so far we do not know whether French cars are fitted with any special switch which cuts out electric horn during safety zone periods. In Paris and in certain other French towns, we are aware that regulations have been changed issued concerning the use of klaxons at night time, but we are afraid it is a rule which is not observed as well as it might be for the general benefit of the public. As you have raised this question, we will endeavour to find out whether any special arrangements are made on the cars and if so we will write you again later. "Sr" is at present on holidays.
