it is not the only factor to be considered.

Thus Iso-Vis is thicker than Amber gear oil but less efficient, Mobile 'E' thicker than lard or sperm, but has a considerably greater tendency to promote sticking than either.

SUMMARY OF TESTS ON THE LUBRICATION OF WORM AND NUT OF STEERING USING DIFFERENT OILS.

The temperature in each case was approx. 59°C.

Taking the efficiency of the steering with Prices amber gear oil as 100% for purposes of comparison.
