RE MICHELIN DISC WHEELS. X.3482. X.15 When we come to try and fit these wheels to 1 EX Car, we find we are in trouble because the holes in the wheels which fit on to the studs are not evenly spaced. On checking up several wheels we find that on individual wheels the holes are out up to .100". We do not see how these wheels can possibly work unless the spacing of the studs in the hubs and the holes on all wheels are very accurate. We are taking this matter up with Michelins; in the meantime we shall not fit disc wheels to 1 EX chassis but shall send it away with Dunlop wire wheels. We do not think it is worth while running disc wheels until they are made so that there is a chance of them giving satisfaction. Below we give comparative weights of Michelin disc wheels and hubs compared with the present Dunlop which we are using. It will be seen that the Michelin wheels are appreciably heavier. Contd. | ||
