x4042. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} From Ha/Wst. Ha/Wst.7/MA.30.10.34. H.T. CABLE. With further reference to our Ha/Wst.7/MA.19.10.34., calling for 150 ft. of varnished cotton braided H.T. cable from Messrs. British Insulated Cables, the exact specification should read as follows :- High Tension Ignition cable composed of 40/.010" tinned copper wires, insulated with pur & vulcanised rubber to .236" diameter, cotton braided and cellulose polished to a diameter not exceeding 7 mm. The varnished braided must be capable of complying with A.M. specification tests. Will you please confirmwith them that the cable you have ordered for us/will comply with this specification. As this cable will be required for test on experimental chassis G.B.IV. very shortly we should be glad if you will urge delivery of this cable. With regard to the samples of Maconits H.T. cable which we have agreed to test with varnished cotton braiding, will you please confirm that the cable overall diameter must not exceed 7 mm and that the varnished braiding must similarly be/capable of passing the Air Ministry specification tests as outlined to their Mr.Milner.
