W/P. To Sr. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}2/AP.14.9.37 We have received a letter from A.Duckhams Ltd., who are the makers of Adcoids, enquiring if we have heard anything from you regarding the results, if any, of their use in your Bentley trials car B.35.KW. Their enquiries cover any observation with regard to sweetness of running and silence, also what mileage has been covered by the car whilst using Adcoids? We doubt whether you will be able to note any difference until such time that the cylinder block is removed and measured for wear, likewise, the inlet valves and guides and the condition of the surface of these parts noted. We should, however, be interested to hear if you have noticed any differences to standard, as other than the Adcoids this car was the first outside of the Expl. Dept. to be fitted with the latest lubrication holes in the crankpins and the new main bearing alloy (A.C.2.) and has possibly the biggest mileage to its credit.
