1293 TELEPHONE: BEVERLEY 321 GRAMS: ARMSTRONG'S SUSPENSION. The Gordon Armstrong Patent Suspension COMPANY LIMITED OUR REF: GA.WC.3. YOUR REF: WALTHAM WORKS, OPPOSITE ST MARY'S CHURCH, BEVERLEY E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} YORKS. GORDON ARMSTRONG. A.M.I.A.E., F.Inst.PAT. N.O.TILL Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. 28th May, 1937. For Mr. Leslie's attention Dear Mr. Leslie, I find that the pair of shocks that we tried here yesterday were not the ones that had just come off my car; they were an early type with a fixed orifice one way and a spring-loaded valve the other. Apparently the spring-loaded valve - which was a flat one - was making the noise we heard. The castings are progressing satisfactorily and I think you will be able to have the set of four shocks in time for your requirements. Yours sincerely, p.p.
