COPY. To W/S - CWB. C. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/WW7/W20.5.26. Re Chassis No. 11-EX. We have to-day received from the Experimental Dept. the complete specification of the above chassis, ref. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}2/BE9.12.25, copy of which was sent to you in December last under cover of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG12.12.25. It is obvious from this specification that a considerable number of parts are incorporated in this chassis which have not been standardised, and if it is intended that all these parts shall be replaced with parts which are standard for this type chassis, i.e. N-K.{Mr Kilner} series, it will mean that more time will be required than has already been estimated for the job. As, however, the car is to be used by the Chairman, it is probable that it will not be necessary to make the chassis a standard one in respect of types of parts. We anticipate being in a position to commence the re-assembly of the chassis in the course of the next day or two. We shall be glad, therefore, if you will treat this matter as very urgent, and let us have the Administration's decision in the matter. Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/WW. Copy of telegram dated 21.5.26. " Chassis 11-EX consult Hives and replace all experimental parts not likely to be standardised leave all parts likely to be standardised. " Commander Briggs. | ||
