Experimental Dept. Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.3/MH. {M. Huckerby} 14th. October 1938. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., WOLVERHAMPTON. For the attention of Mr.Dunn. Dear Sirs, The writer received your telephone message this morning from Mr.Smith just as he was about to leave for Wolverhampton, and would point out that this has caused him considerable inconvenience. Surely it should have been possible to notify Mr.Steadman earlier that Mr.Dunn would be unable to keep the appointment, or at any rate that the Bentley III radiator, which was the reason for the visit, would not be ready until Monday next - the last three appointments made with Mr.Dunn have all been postponed in this irritating and discourteous manner, which seems to typify your unbusinesslike methods in dealing with Rolls-Royce Ltd. As the writer's time is likely tobe fully occupied next week, and the purpose of the visit, (which was to approve and bring back the Bentley III radiator in time for the week-end to be worked on the chassis) is now nullified, we suggest that the appointment should be cancelled and the radiator despatched to us on Monday next (Oct. 17th.) Will you please send it passenger train and inform the writer by telephone as to the time of arrival. With regard to the clearing up of confusion of drawings of the Wraith 80 radiator, and also the Bentley III and Bentley 50 - we think that this will best be done by returning to us immediately all the drawings which you have which apply to these three radiators -we will then let you have an up-to-date set for each radiator by return. | ||
