You will remember that Mr Platford wrote you 22/7/13 asking for a new car for the above purpose, which should contain Double Rear Brakes and 4 speed Box etc. and you suggested that it might be possible to use up one of the experimental cars instead of having a new 2700 type chassis. We replied to Mr Platford that we thought it very doubtful that we could possibly spare a car containing the above features for a long time but that we could give him the choice of three cars that are now in the Exp. shop, having 3 speed gear boxes and standard axles, and which we wish to get rid of and which are a good deal more up to date than the present demonstration car. Mr Platford states in reply to this that he is arranging for Sales Dept. to allot a new chassis for this purpose, and in view of your previous request Mr Wormald thought that we should draw your attention to the exact state of affairs; as otherwise [STAMP: RECEIVED 26 AUG 1913 Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}] [Handwritten note:] This is so -> What will you do with the old experimental Cars? 24/8 This sheet must be filed with the correspondence to which it refers. | ||
