| 460a. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}4/R.7.9.38. B.III REAR SHOCK DAMPERS. 7.B.V. We want shock dampers with 9" arms fitting to the rear of this car as we find that changing the length of the arm entirely alters the ride characteristics. Will you please fit the short petrol tank to it that was intended for the bump chassis. The latter is having a welded tank. The car is fitted now with R.R. dampers, so only the arms need changing and the setting altering. The new fixings for the dampers will have to be modified slightly to suit the obsolete frame of 7.B.V. We think the Shop will be able to contrive a suitable mounting.
