1158 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.15/MH.{M. Huckerby} 22nd. September 1938. Messrs. S.Smith & Sons Ltd., Cricklewood Works, LONDON, N.W.2. For the attention of Mr.Grosé. Dear Sirs, Thank you for your letter of the 5th. inst. There has been a delay in replying as we have been considering the question of whether it would be advisable for you to modify our standard American "HaDees" heater for remote motor operation for us. we have decided that as there is no immediate urgency on the job we would prefer to wait until we can have a British made product off your tools, and we should be very interested to test one of these units when possible. We are accordingly, shortly returning to you the complete "HaDees" heater which you sent us for noise test. We are still awaiting the cost figure for the small defroster blower which you promised us, and would also like to receive a sample of the "Silent" type fan which you mentioned to the writer when Mr.Ralston and Mr.Grosé were at our works recently. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
