X.3593 RE GOSHAWK 1 - CLUTCH & BRAKE PEDALS.

We send you herewith a print of N.sch. 780 shewing the above gear made along the lines of the design for Goshawk 11, which we understood to be your intention from R1/G15.2.21.
With reference to your R1/G15.2.21, we should like to say that we had noticed the 3/8" bolts on our schemes 737 and 751, and should have altered it before we sent the prints to you, except for the fact that the levers are already in existence, having been made because a control was needed to complete the chassis temporarily, to a design made a considerable while ago. The same remark applies to the clutch operating shaft mounted on spherical bearings, and which we also left because it was in existence, and it appeared to be more expensive to change it than to leave it as it was.
On N.sch. 780 we have, however, modified both these points in accordance with what we understand to be your wishes and new pieces can be made or not, as you wish.
Since doing this drawing we have received E7/G7.3.21, but in view of Mr. Royce's remarks on R1/G16.2.21, we have retained the pinned lever for operating the clutch. Also because of LeC.1353 we have not, in this case, removed the hexagon from the jaw pieces operating the clutch.
