STEERING EXPERIMENTS. We have a number of pieces going through in connection with steering experiments. (1) An arrangement of pivot giving a horizontal stub axle and a vertical king pin. This we believe is almost completely machined. (2) Arrangement of a roller bearing round the pivot pin to take the side thrust. (3) Pivot with off-set centre to obtain self centering without longitudinal rake. We believe the forgings for this have just come to hand. (4) Details for shackling the front spring at the front and rear ends with a locking device. We should be obliged if you could watch all these details as far as possible as the tests at present are considered of primary importance.
