Engine - Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Slight misfiring and spitting back in carburetter was entirely overcome by fitting K.L.G. F.L.B.30X. sparking plugs, replacing Lodge Sintox plugs on which the point gaps had burnt to .040 - .042"

Exhaust System.

The various troubles with this have already been dealt with in the daily reports.

On return to the Works, a rear exhaust manifold stud was found to be broken off in the cylinder head.

The swan neck pipe from rear silencer has fouled the rearmost box crossmember, and the roll bar, although there is at least one inch clearance at these points in the cold condition.

Accelerator Pedal.

The rubber stop in the fully open position fitted by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IM. is very effective in insulating pedal from shocks transmitted by the frame.

Clutch.

This is fairly good, no judders or slip occurred during the trip.

Brakes.

These are very effective, an occasional light squeak noticed from the front brakes. There is a light high pitched squeak from the servo.

The hand brake is efficient and a very marked improvement by comparison with P.III.
