re. PETROL TANK AT REAR END - 19-EX. HOOPER SEDANCA.
Y7460 / Y7830 Y4038

Owing to the change in the chassis which has been made since this body was instructed some months ago, and owing to Hooper's having put less turn under on the rear panel, and also due to the fact that this body has a square cornered back, there will be some difficulty in mounting the body on 19-EX chassis.

The fouls consist of:
(1) The 2 level device comes under the bottom rail of the body.
(2) The filler fouls the corner of the body.
(3) The K.S. gauge and vent pipe foul the bottom rail.
(4) The tyre of the spare wheel fouls the body panel.

This is the very worst type of body to deal with as the square corner quarrels with the petrol filler, and the flat back does not permit a very large turn under without looking ugly.

On N. scheme 2780. (herewith) we shew a modified petrol tank and wheel carrier which will enable you to get the body on.

The filler is leaned back to clear the body, and the K.S. gauge and the 2 level device are moved rearwards. We think this modification might be made standard on all tanks in future.

The spare wheel is canted out rearwards to clear the panel. We are sorry to have to do this but it is one of the unavoidable features in ordering the body before we finish the chassis.
