Wandering issues caused by steering geometry errors on B.III & B.50 models, proposing trial improvements.

Engineer}15/JH.29.6.38. B.III & B.50 Steering Geometry. As mentioned in our memo. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}6/MH.{M. Huckerby}24.5.38. we are concerned about wandering on B.III, apparently due to geometry errors in the steering layout. Schemes PD.199/200/201/205. have been issued for improving the geometry and we wish to rig these up for trial on 7.B.V. By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design} is at present detailing simple pieces for this purpose. We recommend that no new dies for cross steering levers or centre steering levers should be produced until we have tested the improved geometry. Cross steering levers required for cars now being built can be made by bending existing finished levers to the modified form to clear the tyres.
