Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Levallois Sr/VAI/ET.20.II.35 Re: OVEROILING OF EARLY TYPE BENTLEY ENGINES FITTED WITH L.B.B.S With further reference to your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}30/KW.II.II.35, chassis B.179.AE (Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Edmond Blanc) is being sent to us towards the end of this month so that we can attend to the oil consumption. Sr. says that, since we fitted the L.B.B.'s the owner buys more oil than petrol. For your information, we fitted the L.B.B.'s on the 24.I.35. The car had then covered 24.324 Kms. The present mileage of the car is 48.500 Kms. We have informed the owner that the engine should now be decarbonised etc.. We note from your memo that the Repair Department are having some rings produced for the old type fully split skirt pistons. We should be glad if you would kindly arrange to have one or two of the rings in question sent to us as early as possible. Sr/VA. | ||
