(5) 40/50 CARBURETTER CONTROL ON INSTRUMENT BOARD. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 3430. X. 2768 X.4613

With the isolation scheme for the scuttle and dash allowing the two to bump relatively, the universal forks often pull off the central slotted ball, allowing this to fall down on to the floor. In less serious cases the continual bumping causes wear, and then the joint rattles. At the present moment we are binding these up with insulation tape and string. We suggest that the Goshawk type of instrument board control might be substituted for this, as the former is made to allow for this bumping, and is adjustable for all scuttle lengths. Would H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} kindly give us his views?
