1036? Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/MH.{M. Huckerby} 4th. August 1938. Mr. Ainsworth, Automobiles Hotchkiss, 154, Avenue des Champs-Elysees, PARIS, France. Dear Mr. Ainsworth, When I was recently in Paris visiting your Works you will possibly remember that we discussed the fact that you were fitting a double choke downdraught carburetter on your six-cylinder engine. We have tried this set-up once or twice but have never been very happy with the distribution. I wonder whether it would be possible for you to tell me - (1) whether you are perfectly satisfied with the distribution, (2) what sort of induction pipe you use, and whether there is any particular trick about rectifying distribution, and (3) what you feel exactly that the customer gets out of the duplex instrument. The Terraplane, of course, has got a duplex carburetter but their pipe is nothing like yours. For our part, if there is any information of the same type which we could let you have, we shall only be too glad to do so. | ||
