Dear Mr. Callingham,

Many thanks for your letter of the 23rd re fuel.

The car runs entirely satisfactorily on Shell No. 1 and Benzole with its present cylinder head and therefore we do not propose to use Ethyl. We should however like to know the difference in Octane value for the Petrol-Benzole and the Benzole-Ethyl mixtures.

If you will send us the petrol-Benzole mixture we can call for the other should we find we require it at a later date.
