X1282 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}19/KW. 25th July, 1934. L.G. Callingham, Esq., Messrs. Shell-Mex & B.P. Ltd., Shell Mex House, Victoria Embankment, LONDON, W.C.2. Dear Mr. Callingham, Many thanks for your letter of the 23rd re fuel. The car runs entirely satisfactorily on Shell No. 1 and Benzole with its present cylinder head and therefore we do not propose to use Ethyl. We should however like to know the difference in Octane value for the Petrol-Benzole and the Benzole-Ethyl mixtures. If you will send us the petrol-Benzole mixture we can call for the other should we find we require it at a later date. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
