86021 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/MA. September 12th., 1933. The Chloride Electrical Storage Co.Ltd., Exide Works, Clifton Junction, Nr. Manchester. Re. Special Phantom II Battery. Dear Sirs, Referring again to your letter of the 4th. instant reference CPL/AW. we should think it possible to take the standard 6-XCL3-1M battery and fit it up with 11 of the XC standard plates 3/8" thick. This should result in a battery having a capacity of approx. 75 ampere hours at the 20 hour rate, weight about 80 lbs. and with dimensions eminently suitable for our requirements. We should be glad to have your opinion regarding this suggestion. It would be interesting to know also if the batteries you have supplied against our order for the Bentley chassis have the Overseas standard plates fitted. We should also like to know if the battery we have suggested in the first paragraph of this letter would be a size larger than the Bentley say with two more plates per cell but of similar construction and in monobloc container. | ||
