RE. EXHAUST HEATERS FOR CHASSIS 21-UE AND 38-UE. (EMPEROR OF JAPAN)

With reference to my conversation with you re the above, in view of the fact that the design of the apparatus for the above is not yet settled, and instructions are not yet issued for the manufacture of these parts, we have arranged to deliver these two chassis to the Coachbuilders, as they are otherwise complete.

Please therefore take this matter up with the Coachbuilders and inform them accordingly, also arrange with them that we shall be able to supply and fix these exhaust heaters whilst the chassis are in their hands, which we can do simultaneously with the fixing of the body.

We shall also then be in a better position to see that the exhaust heaters are fixed satisfactorily for the Coachbuilders.

Please keep me in touch with the action you are taking on this matter so that we shall be able to see that our testers and inspectors in London deal with these chassis at the Coachbuilders according to the arrangements which have beenmade between ourselves and the Coachbuilders.

EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}
