Dear Spurrier,

Thank you for your letter.

I note that Pilkington will be writing to me regarding Markland's visit re superchargers.

I have asked Mr. Aspley to write to Pilkington regarding the plating.

Should you be able to find any information regarding the Patent position of short liners I would be very glad to have it.

Is it possible for you to let me have any further information on the re-bore mileages run by your petrol engine vehicles in the hands of operators. We are particularly interested in a comparison between normal cylinder iron and phosphor-chrome liners.

We have been very interested in inspecting the aluminium Cub cylinder block which you so kindly loaned us, and we are returning it forthwith.

One interesting feature was that there was twice as much wear on the rear cylinder as on the front, and this increase in wear seemed to be progressive towards the rear of the engine.

Is this representative of the usual results on iron cylinder blocks ?
