STEERING PENDULUM LEVER.
SENIOR RANGE.

On PL.95. herewith we shew the 6.050ins long pendulum lever for the Right Hand Cars of the Senior Range. This pendulum lever was required to complete the rationalised range of levers and ratios for the whole of the Senior Programme as outlined in Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}1/MH{M. Huckerby}9.1.40.

If one excludes the B.5. and B.50. there is only one lever in the rationalised range except for the Left Hand Cars.

A practical test was made to demonstrat e that the angular rock of the joint on the ball will permit of the use of the same lever on all cars in spite of the slight variation in the angular position in plan of the side steering tube on the various models.

It is believed that the details of the end sockets of the cross-steering tubes and the detail of the socket at the front end of the side steering tube call for N/S. We wish this to be changed to S/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}
