- 2 - The clutch, however, has now a smoother engagement than when the car first came out. 25 H.P. SERIES. To get a perfectly smooth running engine idling with the standard rockers. With the hydraulic rockers, it will not run smoothly, the reason being that the spring load on the valves is too light in the closed valve position, and the hydraulic pressure on the rockers is sufficient to prevent the valves actually seating. You can verify this by feeling at the push rods while the engine is running. This fault is predominant on the 25H.P. Valve clearances have to be very lightly taken or mislending settings are obtained. This is not so with the Phantom. G.W.H. | ||
