Radiator Suspension Spring Type HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}299. With reference to the Experimental request for a definite radial location in the cross member of Spring Flange HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}292 (F.82898), we suggest this can be obtained by two .1875" dia. pins .200" long spaced at 1.062 centres and held by a light drive fit. The cross member could be filed to take these pins and we further suggest the Spring Flange would be made a fixture to the cross member by rivetting over the .875" dia. thread. The lock plate F.82209 and Screw F.81225 could then be dispensed with. As this is essentially an experimental arrangement we should like your approval of the above before altering our detail F.82898 which has been instructed for twelve production sets. We attach sketch blueprint to RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}'s copy of this memo which clearly shews our proposals. BY/SS.{S. Smith} | ||
