Because of this Hoopers decided to make all future grids with solid arms like the grid supplied to the Experimental Department, but no such grids have yet been supplied to us, although they have supplied nine to their own customers. This nine includes several cars originally fitted with grids having hollow arms subsequently changed for the solid arm type. 7. The C.S.C. has been constantly striving to improve the provision made for carrying luggage on this type of car, including luggage beyond the capacity of the built-in Container, and on the next batch of bodies authorised on 22nd March last, had arranged for the Container itself to be enlarged and for its door to be designed to act as an auxiliary grid. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} is confident that this arrangement can be satisfactory, and has adopted it for the Saloon Park Wards we have in hand for experimental Bentley chassis No. 5-B-4. He is consulting with Hoopers on how to avoid possible trouble. LHS.{Lord Herbert Scott} | ||
